Although it’s a nice thought, I think making a Disney Princess with cancer or any other potentially terminal illness is a really poor idea. It would be very difficult to make cancer ‘whimsical’ and ‘enchanting’ without being insulting to the millions of people who suffer from cancer and their familes who suffer right along with them.  I think it would be very patronizing to people who have cancer, not to mention, unfortunately, many with cancer don’t suddenly get better and ‘live happily ever after’, No doubt if Disney portrayed a princess with cancer she would likely be suddenly cured by the “magic of love/breaking the curse/true love’s kiss” which would just be taking it too far.

I agree. Though, making a princess who is ill and dying would be interesting. I could really see them doing what Eternal Sonata did…people who are dying from a disease have magical powers. It’d be interesting really..but yeah, I’d rather the condition be created rather than something real that can insult others.
